The Flyers will be without their standout defensmen most likely for the entire Pitssburgh series, due to blood clot in his left foot (ankle). Paul Holmgren said the clot is on the area of the foot where Timonen laces up his skates.
The Flyers will have to make up for the loss of their leader on defense. Timonen tallied 8 goals and 36 assists in the regular season, and had 6 assists so far this post season and a plus minus of 5.
